Well, it was said there would be changes. Hauled to the hospital wasn’t really in mind at the time, but that’s the way it is now. And, they do keep one too busy to do much else but medicate. Aide did okay on Tuesday, but sub had problem on Friday. Friend is watching the home front. And here’s something timely for the passing readership.
But do let us remember that the holiday is the Feast of All Saints….
Some of Hallowe’en seems so unfitting.
May everyone have a safe and happy holiday.

Well a new item on the scene does seem to be roaches. Maintenance is to spray tomorrow. It may have come about because the building’s trash was not being handled properly. The critters were in the hall last Tuesday and at least one (if not the same one already seen) was in the apartment Thursday. Friend did not stop by on either Wednesday or Sunday. A once in a lifetime family event was scheduled for Sunday. Wednesday was iffy, as it seemed sensible to go get rent money orders and Friday was a better day for him to do it. Friday visit was not early enough for banking. Aide service “adjusted” made it good for the plants.
Okay, there has been enough upheaval in the past four months to make anyone much sicker than he or she might otherwise be. By Friday it was a case of being almost completely wiped out. “Sicker” blossomed on Saturday. Friday actions included three trips to the office as well as lunch lady, abbreviated aide service, very late (but welcome) friend, on top of an unexpectedly busy Thursday. One reason for the office trips was roaches. More to a point of business of living, an increase in rent seemed due. Although lease renewal form was filled out, there was no word about any new rent amount and it’s been a couple of months.
Sensing the “sicker” coming on, an easy adjustment grabbed at was to cancel all lunches on Mondays into the foreseeable future. Mondays are free as possible, as a rule. Skipping Mondays for at while clears the day in total. Bed rest at any time helps. If aide service was reliable, delivered lunches could be stopped. It hasn’t been reliable for over a year (then only for a while). Avon brought a new pair of street serviceable house slippers. One of the wireless hotspots is outside on the driveway. More change is in mind, but nothing can be set into motion at the present time but the lunch cancellation. An hour is an hour.
Some people don’t have time for holidays.
A reason for the pictures is to have something different. The only new thing on the scene seems to be one cockroach running by. In the past week homemaker aide service, lunch lady and food truck all turned out great. Friend surprisingly did not come by on Wednesday although he said he would, and did come Friday ( unexpectedly with reason not explained) as well on Sunday. For a change, the money from the week was tallied up. The internet situation is unchanged. The doctor came and so did the X-ray service he ordered. The week also included a bad scene with the residents association acting chief as she did not like what she was told in good faith. Friday midnight the lady who has been potting the plant gifts was taken to the hospital.
Sometimes things stay pretty much the same.
The weekend had aspects worth noting. The mouse is dead. It was good-sized for a mouse. The size suggests it wormed it’s way in when it was young. Seems like the only thing for it to eat was centipedes. It died late Saturday in the trap put out a week ago Friday. A neighbor lady helped with the burial (in the trash chute). After the burial, there was an attempt to set the heating/cooling gizmo on heat. The nights are in the forties now, and the thing keeps running with it set on air conditioning. It immediately set off the smoke alarm. Friend’s visit was highly awaited, partly to search for the mouse hole.
Earlier in the week was also notable especially Friday. While sitting at the best hotspot for a computer internet connection, the landlord dashed by mumbling something about seeing about getting an internet connection in the apartment. The hotspot is in an area he likes to dash through to go to the basement. While people can get by easily enough, one can’t exactly fly by. A subsequent trip to the office to discuss the ins and outs of such things was futile. He wasn’t there. There’s a need to stay away from the hotspot during office hours. Aide service was great, regardless of a time shift without notice on Friday upsetting life.
The past week was “Avon” week. That’s working out well. This coming week is food truck week, which always is a bit rushed; the man comes during aide time. There also has been action about some help with “The Project.” Apparently an idea to put into motion isn’t going to be done as hoped. There can’t be word on that until maybe tomorrow evening. The doctor’s still being awaited. Patching the mouse hole (rat hole? – friend said it was large) may take numerous trips to the office. In general, there is too much running around for internet access and office stuff (using up scooter energy).
Years fly by faster for the elderly.
